Georgia Power’s summer intern program kicked off this week with nearly 40 students from 26 cities across the state gathering for initial training. Groups of interns met in Metro-Atlanta, Augusta, Gainesville, Macon, Savannah and Valdosta as they prepared for a summer of hands-on learning. These interns will energize their futures by working alongside Georgia Power employees to gain experience for high-demand energy careers in line work, metering, network underground, and transmission. Upon completion of the paid summer internship, students will have the opportunity to attend one of eight technical colleges across the state where Georgia Power sponsors apprenticeship certification programs: Atlanta Technical College, Coastal Pines Technical College, Georgia Northwestern Technical College, Georgia Piedmont Technical College, North Georgia Technical College, Southern Regional Technical College, South Georgia Technical College, and West Georgia Technical College.  #poweringcareers #summerinternship #georgiapower
