We know that nearly 60% of jobs in the state of Georgia will require a postsecondary degree or credential by 2025, yet far too few young people are on track to get there. Additionally, just this week it was highlighted that Atlanta still has the highest income inequality of all major cities. It begs the question of how we as an education and workforce development community can continue to help more and more of Georgia’s young people reap the benefits of our booming economy and meet the workforce needs of the future?
Luckily, there are many committed partners doing just that. We at OneGoal work with schools, postsecondary institutions and workforce/employer partners to help students identify their career goals and take the steps necessary to attain their greatest postsecondary and long-term potential. This past October, OneGoal students were able to participate in Georgia Power’s Careers in Energy Week, sparking students' interests in the many careers available to them and a greater understanding of how to get there. Experiences like these with Georgia Power help our students envision the future they could have!
If you are looking for resources to help students, check out these two high leverage tools below:

Special thanks to Taylor Ramsey for writing for our blog. OneGoal partners directly with high schools to provide additional support to students as they identify their interests, apply to postsecondary programs and build the skills and beliefs necessary to successfully attain their degree or credential. OneGoal currently works with close to 800 students across the Metro Atlanta area. To learn more please reach out to Taylor Ramsey at or visit OneGoal's website.
