We love summer learning - even for Georgia's amazing teachers! From June 20-23, Georgia Power's Workforce Development team is hosting 12 educators from across the state at the 2nd annual Teacher Externship. This program helps teachers prepare students for skilled trade jobs and summer internship opportunities. Educators are learning about in-demand energy careers with tours to the Klondike Training Center, Minola Operating Headquarters, Network Underground and Plant Vogtle. And we're diving into the future of energy with sessions on renewable energy, electric vehicles, and microgrid technology.
Teacher Externship provides an opportunity for educators to get a first-hand look and understanding of the work and skills students need to be successful in the energy industry. It is critical for business and education to align with each other to ensure student success in the workforce. Learn more about how we are powering education by visiting the career planning section.
